Portraits made in Queens Wharf, Auckland and Onehunga, Auckland in 2019 working in pop-studios. In one, I worked in a shipping container, hanging a sheet at the back. The other took place in a shop that was waiting to be refurbished. The set-up was very simple: my Sony A7r3 with a Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 lens on a tripod. I cabled the camera to my laptop and managed the shoot with Capture One. This applied a pre-set to the images, so there was minimal post-processing to do. Each shoot took less than 10 minutes, mostly under five minutes. That's how, for the Onehunga shoot, I got through forty-two families in one weekend.
